April 2024 update

A month of awards!

The theme of this month’s newsletter is awards! Our quarterly Supplier Awards winners for March 2024 have been announced so please read on to find out who has won this quarter, and MA Group has been nominated for some industry awards as well. We also bring news on our successful Revival Branch Network Meeting, headed up by Revival‘s new Managing Director, with details of the award winners at this fantastic event in Milton Keynes.

New Managing Director for Revival

Revival is on a growth journey and so we can continue delivering strong outcomes for our clients and their customers, our leadership team is following suit.

We are delighted to announce that Melissa Bridges has taken up the newly appointed role of Managing Director of Revival from the 1st April. With over 20 years’ experience across MA Group, plus her recently achieved Level 4 CIPS qualifications, she has hit the ground running.

Melissa will join the Executive Team at MA Group, supported by:

Paul Hayman, CEO
Teresa Owen, Finance & Stragey Director
Jorge Gonzalo, Chief Operating Officer
Andrew Nolan, Chief Information Officer
Haley Elsden, Client Development Director

We’re thrilled to have Melissa on board to support Revival’s future growth.

Virtus Surveyor of the Quarter

Congratulations to Ian Lancaster, our Virtus Surveyor of the Quarter ending March 2024. Ian was rewarded for his incredible support throughout the winter and during storm surges – he dedicated his entire capacity to Virtus and travelled across the UK to hotspot areas. He’s super responsive and proactive, has excellent communication skills and maintains high standards of customer service – well-deserved!

Ian was Surveyor of the Year 2023, so it’s great to see him continuing to perform so well in 2024.

Revival Branch of the Quarter

Revival Strathclyde were winners of the Revival award this time around. Peter and the team have been a 5-star branch for several months demonstrating consistency, positivity and willingness. They also recently qualified as a Revival Select branch and have been smashing their drying duration targets, delivering an average of 10.5 days!

Melissa Bridges presented Peter with the award at the National Branch Meeting.

MA Assist Supplier of the Quarter

Property Services SDS are one of our longest serving and most reliable contractors, so it was great to see them win the award this quarter. Their above-and-beyond support, exemplary performance and customer care are outstanding – as demonstrated by their professional handling of a sensitive case for our largest client, as showcased in our latest case study.

Revival National Branch Meeting

The Revival National Branch Meeting took place on 18th and 19th April at Hotel La Tour in Milton Keynes. This event brings together our UK-wide branches to share knowledge, best practices and ideas. It also provides an opportunity to get up to speed on strategy and business development opportunities.

We held our first ever exhibition where MA Group suppliers from across the spectrum showed off what they can do for the Revival branches. It was a great success and we have received some incredibly positive feedback from the branches and the suppliers.

We hosted a gala dinner on the Thursday evening to recognise the marvellous work the branches all do. The dinner was attended by some of our incredibly supportive clients and we gave out awards to the best performers from the Revival network.

The award winners were:

Know Your Skills – Revival East Anglia
For wholeheartedly embracing our Know Your Skills | Grow Your Skills staff development programme, with 100% attendance to all sessions they’ve booked onto and keeping all the staff logbooks up to date – great commitment!

Administrator of the YearDanielle Carasco (Revival Northampton)
For her astoundingly proactive approach, which has rippled across the network and challenged us at Head Office to refine our way of working. Her friendly and approachable manner also makes her stand out – thoroughly deserved!

Technician of the YearGareth Gwenlan (Revival Belfast)
Gareth smashed his Senior BDMA tech exams and his technical drying regime ability is very impressive. It’s easy to see why customers love him as he provides a quality and personalised service in their hour of need – his passion and skill is admirable!

MAD of the YearRevival Manchester
Manchester received more monthly MAD award wins than any other branch over the last year. Paul and his team have constantly ticked both quantity and quality boxes with dedication to supporting customers and insurers – a credit to the network!

Branch Leadership of the YearTony Gray Dip CII BDMA TECH (Revival Northampton)
Tony goes above and beyond to support and nurture our network by showing newer branches the ropes, working with existing branches on best practice and even supporting Head Office by challenging our ways of working for the benefit of the brand.

Supplier of the YearAlcom IT
Alcom has been our fantastic IT solutions provider for fifteen years so we’re never surprised to hear positive network feedback about Abe and his team’s exceptional levels of support and technical knowledge.

Revival Spirit  – Revival Manchester
No branch embodies our core values quite like Manchester. From their can-do attitude to their willingness and passion to go the extra mile for clients, customers and staff.

MA Group award nominations

We are delighted to have been nominated in not one, but two categories at the 2024 British Claims Awards!

Best Use of Technology (MA Group)        Outsourced Partner of the Year (Revival)

We’ll be eagerly counting the days till the black tie event at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in London on 6th June – where at the very least we’ll enjoy meeting, learning from and sharing common ground with like-minded professionals in the industry!

We have also reached the finals of the SME MK and Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2024. MA Group is a finalist for Business of the Year in the 50+ employees category. Reaching these finals reflects the hard work of our teams over the past year. We look forward to attending the awards in June.

Fingers crossed for us!

DIY SOS for an elderly couple

Our latest case study explains how MA Group and our MA Assist supplier of the quarter, Property Services SDS, provided sensitive support for a vulnerable, elderly couple through a “DIY SOS” property claim just before Christmas. Their care and service brought high praise from the client and their in-house loss adjuster who said:

“For a builder to turn up on a joint visit at no notice, to see the situation and, just before Xmas, go to extraordinary lengths and with some enormous pride to see if they could turn it round quickly was remarkable. I wouldn’t have given this a 0.1% chance of having key works done by Xmas but the way that the builder “held their hand” through material choices and somehow got it sorted was exceptional.”

2024 Charity Golf Day and Dinner

Our next annual MA Group Charity Golf Day and Dinner will take place  on 6th June at The Oxfordshire Golf Club. We are looking forward to another marvellous day and evening with our clients, suppliers and staff.

Year in, year out, this fabulous day never disappoints as our suppliers and clients come together to raise money for the Oxford Young Adult Clinic. Last year’s event raised £15,000 for the wonderful charity that has supported our CEO, Paul Hayman, and his daughter Laura, to whom Paul donated his kidney in 2017.

It also gives us an opportunity to celebrate all the great things our suppliers do for our clients and their customers. If you would like to join us, for golf and/or dinner, please get in touch with Sally-Ann Johnson.

MA Group MAD Awards

Our monthly MAD award winner in February was Will Shackleton, Project Manager for our sister company NHCC.

Will presented a virtual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentation – ‘New Build Defects and Changes to Regulatory Environment’ – in partnership with The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). Will’s presentation attracted a huge attendance of 140+ CIOB members, from whom he received excellent feedback.

“I just wanted to message again to say a massive thank you for all help with CIOB Hemel Hubs CPD last night as we had so much positive feedback from members this morning. I know those who attended and myself found the session very beneficial.”

Great work Will.
