January 2023 update

Happy New Year

2023 has started off with a bang. Shortly after completing our acquisition of Revival Blue (formerly Chem-Dry U.K) we went into a nationwide burst pipe surge. We have been delighted with the performance of our new Revival Blue licensees, who are working exceptionally hard and delivering an outstanding service with very few delays for our clients and their customers. Revival UK branches are also working incredibly well during the surge, keeping their high customer and client satisfcation results and helping customers in need across the country.

We held our Annual Awards Lunch on 17th January, which had been postponed from November due to the train strikes. A great day was had by all and this newsletter brings together the highlights of the day.

MA Group Annual Awards Lunch

Thank you to everyone who came to the MA Group Awards Lunch on Tuesday 17th January in the stunning Chartered Accountants Hall in London. Congratulations to all the MA Group Property Claims winners:

Virtus Surveyor of the Year – Dan Stanton

During the storm surges of winter 2021/2022, many surveyors supported Virtus and delivered great service in an exceptionally challenging period.  One surveyor, however, stepped up to support Virtus and the MA Group in a way that was noticed across the whole business.

Dan has undertaken an exceptional number of high quality surveys for Virtus throughout the last year, provided a consistent level of service and actively gone the extra mile to support Virtus.

MA Assist Supplier of the Year – TruBuild Group

TruBuild joined us in 2021 although we were already familiar with Lewis from his work with another company.  Since they joined, they have carried out excellent quality work with brilliant feedback in a controlled and well-organised manner.  They have always been willing to go the extra mile and have carried out a full range of jobs from the simple run of the mill to very high profile and high value cases.

We continually receive fantastic feedback from clients and customers about TruBuild. TruBuild have become an important part of the MA Assist network and we wish to congratulate Lewis, Shane and the team on this well deserved award.

Revival Branch of the Year – Halifax

Andrew and the team at Revival Halifax are consistently a top performer, by whatever measure you use. This year saw Andrew take sole control of the business and that new found energy and enthusiasm has enabled our Yorkshire branch to win this award. Well done to the team in Halifax!

Andrew and his team took the decision to accept this award in absentia due to the ongoing pressures of surge. Andrew didn’t want to leave his team to come to London when they are working flat out to help customers across their region. The award was collected on their behalf by Revival Divisional Director, David Shimwell.

MA Group Special Project of the Year – Revival SW London

Revival South West London won this award for their work on a large and complex drying project on one of the most prestigious development sites in the UK with extremely high-end finishes (sadly due to an NDA being in place it cannot be named). The average cost of an apartment is £40 million and extensive water damage occurred across the development following the London floods in July 2021.

The project was one of the largest injection drying jobs in Europe and Revival SW London completed the works on time with several phases ahead of schedule. The challenges exceeded anything they had ever experienced and the compliments received during the project pay tribute to each member of the team’s dedication and application.

Well done to Revival South West, a truly remarkable project and a very worthy winner.

MA Group Employee of the Year

Ahmed is one of our Claims Technicians in Aylesbury. He joined MA Group in January 2022 and since then has earned numerous MAD recognitions for his work.

He has been described by clients as “always lovely and helpful”, customers tell us he is “extremely knowledgeable and helpful“, “polite and always going the extra mile” and his productivity levels are always high. Well done Ahmed.

Kevin Durkan Special Recognition Award – Melissa Bridges

This is a new award named after our former Chairman, Kevin Durkan.

Melissa was recognised for her long service to MA Group (20 years) and her exceptional project management and negotiation skills that ensured she delivered the RSA Prinicipal Contractor model into MA Group, going live in July 2022.

This new model is a game changer for MA Group and RSA and it is already delivering exceptional results for RSA and their customers, and MA Group.

Melissa is well known and respected in our industry, is always cheerful and well-organised and all her hard work and effort was rewarded when the shareholders of MA Group appointed her Supply Chain Director.

NHCC Awards

Congratulations to the winners of NHCC’s awards as well

NHCC Supplier of the Year – Higgs Building Services

Higgs Building Services have been working with NHCC since 2021 when they first joined the MA Group Builder Repair Network. Higgs do a large volume of work for NHCC and deliver a consistent, reliable, and well managed service to the benefit of our clients and their customers. They always provide NHCC with regular updates throughout a job from the point the works are originally assigned.

Higgs are great at communicating and are very flexible and are always proactive and go out of their way to deliver great customer service. On top of this the quality of works carried out by Higgs is always high.

NHCC Client Excellence Award – HUB

HUB first engaged with NHCC in 2019 to deliver customer care services at their Chesterfield House Development in Wembley. From the outset of our working relationship HUB have demonstrated an unfaltering commitment to customer care that deserves recognition. This 2022 client excellence award recognises the investment HUB have made in customer service delivery at Queens Quarter in Croydon.

MA Group MAD Awards

We had two MAD employees for October 2022. Both Danielle Potter and Leigh Bell from our control centre were exceptional in their responses to three claims involving vulnerable customers.

Danielle ensured that work got underway at a community centre which run activities for the elderly, ensuring that works would be completed so the hall could be used over the Christmas period.

Danielle’s second recognition was for a claim where the customer has a disabled husband. The house had been damaged due to a burst pipe, and an imminent, long awaited holiday was at risk while this incident was ongoing.  Danielle took control of the situation and worked with the suppliers to ensure works started swiftly.   Danielle followed the claim through to completion meaning that the customers and their family could still go away on holiday.

Meanwhile, Leigh was dealing with a claim where the customer had no heating or hot water, and a vulnerable child suffering from an auto-immune disease, with half term looming.  Leigh worked closely with the insurer to make specific arrangements for appropriate alternative accommodation, and then with the Revival branch and MA Assist suppliers to ensure the works were completed to time.

Both Danielle and Leigh demonstrated their ability to manage intricate claims in a sensitive way, especially where vulnerable customers are concerned

Aaron Baker, MA Group Supplier Procurement Manager, was our MADdest employee in December 2022.

Aaron has done an amazing job since October onboarding new contractors and surveyors as well as taking control of compliance for the 24 new Revival Blue licensees. During November he brought on 11 new suppliers in one month (plus there are more in the pipeline) which is really a fantastic result. Well done Aaron.
