Busy summer
We have had a busy summer again this year and are excited for the busy winter season ahead of us. We achieved a new, and our most exciting, accreditation, and made changes to the supply chain team. Also, our fully integrated, nationwide Revival network has been embracing TREVOR, and our clients are loving him.
We have been investing a lot of time and resources into developing our market leading training and development programme for all staff and suppliers, which will offically launch on 2nd October, called Know Your Skills, Grow Your Skills. We will bring you more news on that next month.
MA Group becomes a Chartered Building Consultancy
We are delighted to announce that MA Group has been welcomed into the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) under the Chartered Building Consultancy scheme.
The CBC Scheme was initiated by the CIOB back in 1993 to support construction organisations of all sizes. The scheme is designed to demonstrate that a business is managed professionally and meets the CIOB’s ethical codes.
Organisations chartered with the CIOB are independently assessed and regularly audited to ensure they:
The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) is the world’s largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership. Since 1834 it has been promoting the science and practice of building and construction for the benefit of society and was awarded a Royal Charter in 1980. Its members work worldwide in the development, conservation and improvement of the built environment.
MA Group now has the following external, independent accreditations:
MA Group’s CEO, Paul Hayman FCIOB, said:
“The CIOB Chartered Building Consultancy status complements MA Group’s other external, independent accreditations that give our clients and customers confidence in our abilities to deliver an exceptional service underpinned by our core values and strong ethical code.
As a member of the CIOB since 1998, now a Fellow and HUB Committee member, I see first-hand the professionalism of the CIOB and its reach into construction far and wide. This CBC status fills me with immense pride as it demonstrates that the business that I lead has reached such high standards. The CBC status is not the end of the journey, it’s quite the opposite. We plan to use the endorsement as a further platform to help raise the standards of professionalism and integrity across our supply chains; a great example of this is our ‘Know Your Skills’ training platforms that are being rolled out across all our supply chains.”

Staff reshuffle and network expansion
We’re thrilled to announce that due to the continued focus we have on recruiting new suppliers to our network, David Shimwell has been appointed as our new Group Procurement Director. As supply chain capacity is always a hot topic in our industry, consistently signing up and training new suppliers is crucial, so David’s new role is really important as we continue expanding our network and providing top-quality services to our clients. He’s already making a positive impact in this role – this month we have welcomed six new suppliers onto our networks and they have started the training and induction process.
We’d also like to congratulate Paul Sharkey on his new role as Revival Divisional Director. Paul has worked in the property claims industry since 2010, mainly in performance management roles so he has a proven track record of delivering quality performance. He is helping to ensure that Revival delivers exceptional performance across the UK.
These changes further strengthen our supply chain team to continue providing world-class services to our customers, clients, and suppliers. To find out more about our senior management team please CLICK HERE.
TREVOR wins an award!
We are delighted to announce that MA Group won the Business Innovation Award at the Buckinghamshire SME Business Awards last week. The award was in recognition of the innovative and ground-breaking work we have been doing with TREVOR, and means we now go forward to the National Finals in December. Roy Benyon and Adam Tansley, key participants in the TREVOR project, collected the award.
Well done to everyone involved in bringing TREVOR to life, it’s been an incredible team effort by many MA Group staff and Revival branches.
TREVOR gets busy
Poor TREVOR didn’t get a break this summer and has been busier than ever. Having completed the integration of Revival Blue (formerly Chem-Dry UK acquired November 2022) and Revival UK (acquired February 2019) we have now fully embedded TREVOR across the full, combined network. Branches are logging equipment on the claim files, using consistent mositure measuring techniques and equipment and reporting actual and control moisture readings on each drying claim. This is bringing down mitigation and drying times, increasing customer satisfaction and reducing claims costs.
We have a complete suite of documents and information that we are sending out to clients, suppliers and staff:
We promised that this ground-breaking digital technology for property drying would save insurers an average of £600 per claim and 21 days duration, and we are delivering what we promsed.

Awards lunch – save the date
Our annual awards lunch will be taking place on 25th January 2024, at the same beautiful venue as last year – Chartered Accountant’s Hall in Moorgate, London. We will be celebrating the incredible work that our suppliers do for MA Group Property Claims and New Homes Customer Care. If you would like to join us please get in touch with Sally-Ann Johnson.
MA Group MAD Awards
We had two winners of the MAD award in July – Joe Russell and Maizie Read.
Joe Russell is the MA Group Training and Development Manager and, for the first time, he took ownership of coordinating the annual ISO 9001 audit, ensuring that our certification continues for a further year. It went incredibly smoothly, so well done Joe.
Maizie Read, one of our Claims Technicians, received some excellent feedback from a client on behalf of a a very grateful customer:
“At the time Maizie became involved, the claim had stalled due to issues with a pump that required specialist works which meant that our contractors were not able to continue. The policyholder had contacted Maizie and explained their concerns. From this point, Maizie took control of the claim, and was tenacious in her attempts to get the claim moving, enlisting help from colleagues where needed. This also included advising the policyholder that the best course of action would be to stick with the appointed contractors (when he asked to change). Maizie ensured that she kept all parties updated including the policyholder whilst supporting the contractors to get problems solved.
Well done Maizie in demonstrating out core values of excellent communication, a can do, will do attitude and compassion.
The winner of August’s MAD award was Nicola Johnson, one of our Claims Technicians.
We received amazing feedback from a customer after a phone call they had with Nicola:
“I wanted to thank you so very much for everything you did yesterday. You have no idea how amazing it was to talk to someone with a heart that listened to what I had to say and take it all on board.
How you handled yourself yesterday was truly professional and so helpful. I would like your firm to know that due to the effort you put in on my behalf it has changed the whole outcome of my case.
I am again so very, very grateful for all the hardworking and compassion that you have shown towards me and wanted you to know it had not gone unnoticed.”
Well done Nicola.
